The Mercury line is essentially the line of self-expression. If this line is long, then it allows our special talents to be expressed with ease. But if the line is distorted, then there is a hindrance in the realization of our full potential.
This line generally arises from anywhere on the base of Moon Mount and life line. This line should not stop before it ends at Mount Mercury.
It is also called the health line because poor health can hinder self-expression. The most important cause of poor health is a defective digestive system.
This line indicates about the maintenance system and the condition of the liver.
Mercury mount and good Mercury line are highly useful for success in business, because a clear mind, prudence. Wisdom, good understanding, is necessary to get success in the world.
Good digestion power and active liver protects the person's brain from getting blocked.
Perhaps this is the reason that in the older days, hand examiners used to predict bankruptcy by looking at the bad Mercury line, although this is not always the same result of a bad Mercury line.
Presence or absence of Mercury line on the palm
This line is not found on all hands. Nevertheless, this line is found in some form on the hands of one third of the people. When there is a line, it shows the awareness of health. Origin of Mercury Line
It does not matter much whether the Mercury line goes upwards between the Moon Mount and the Fate Line or between the Fate Line and the Life Line. But the Mercury line starting from the life line is considered inauspicious. Where the Mercury line meets the life line, it is considered by Kiro to be a sign of death, even if the life line is long. This author is of the view that such an extreme should not be taken. When this line leaves the mount of Venus, crosses the life line and moves on its path, then it is a sign of predisposition to stomach problems. The digestive system of such a person becomes very sensitive. There is a problem of heartbeat abnormality or tachycardia in the person's heart.
Characteristics of Mercury Line
A deep Mercury line indicates good digestion power, healthy liver, physical condition, clear mind and good memory. In fact, a virtuous line has the same ability to rectify the defects found on the life line as it does in the Mars line.
The chained Mercury line is definitely a sign of a diseased stomach and liver. A person may have gallstones, cirrhosis, inflammation of the bile duct, mental lethargy and a tendency to depression. Such a person tends to be pessimistic, suspicious, anxious and experiences difficulty in coping with everyday life.
Clearly such a person lacks the right mind, deep foresight and energy to be successful in any business.
The island on the line will have the same result as the chained line. But the line containing the islands will be somewhat less bad because the line between the two islands can sometimes show fine. The islands also show throat and pulmonary impairment on this line.
A wavy or twisted line indicates a chronic biliary problem. The person may suffer from liver related problems, enlargement of liver or problems like jaundice.
A bad Mercury line in the Saturn dominated hand is a sign of pitta dosha, arthritis and nervous disorder. The contaminated line of Mercury in the Jupiter dominated hand is a sign of diseases like epilepsy, rheumatism, dizziness. The Jupiter dominated ones have a tendency to overeat anyway. The Mercury line on the Sun dominated hand indicates heart-related problems and the Mercury dominated hand indicates indigestion, nervous disorders and serious liver-related problems.
People with Mars dominated people have inflammation of the intestines and gout and people with Moon dominated have vomiting, nausea and people with Venus dominated have an acute attack of high fever with diarrhoea and sexual disease can be bothersome.
When the line of Mercury is well marked and small branches go upwards, then the person's health is good and he gets immense success in business. But if the lines go down instead of up, then the person has to work hard to achieve high level of success.
When a good Mercury leaves the line and a branch goes to the mount of Jupiter, then the person achieves success because of his ability to lead and ambition. If such a branch goes to the mount of Sun, then the person attains great fame and success with his true talent, sharp intellect, ability to perform and cordial behavior.
For all the above successes one needs to be in that 'right' world, which is indicated by the strongest knuckle of the finger of Mercury. If the first knuckle of the Mercury finger is the longest, then the person will be successful as a good speaker or writer, as he lives in the intellectual world. If the other knuckle is more effective, then one can achieve success in science or professionally. If the third knuckle is seen as the strongest of the three fingers of the Mercury finger, then the person can achieve more success in the field of commerce and business.
Such people are the rulers of the world of sports. When a branch coming out of the Moon mount meets the line of Mercury, then the person has the ability to write creatively.
If the end of the Mercury line is in the cross or bar, then the person may face obstacles in the field of employment.
