First of all, you need to understand that children lines (santan rekha) are vertical lines and they are located vertically on the marriage lines (as shown on above image). Vertical lines underneath the base of the thumb on Mount of Venus are also known as children lines.  In the hand, there are other signs and lines through which we can determine information about the future offspring.

In the minds of married couples, the first question that arises after marriage is whether their firstborn child will be a boy or a girl. How can they determine the gender of their first child?

Its very simple, you need to count your vertical lines above marriage line, thick vertical line denotes male child and thin vertical line denotes female child.
